Stuffed my bear canister under this strap on a four-day trip and it didn't budge once, even scrambling over blowdowns. The extra tension really locks down bulky loads that used to shift around up top.

Didn't realize how much the top of my pack was flopping around until I added this strap. It cinches down tight and keeps my tent and sleeping bag from shifting on the uphill. Carried a bear canister with it last weekend and it held without budging.

Strapped a full bear canister to the top of my pack for a three-day trip and it barely shifted the whole time. The extra strap really does what it says for heavier loads up top.
