The 180 gsm merino is noticeably denser than my other rags, so it actually holds warmth without that scratchy feel. Tossed it in a river on a hot day and it dried fast enough to use again before camp.

The 180 gsm weight is perfect—it’s barely there in my pack but still blocks the wind when I pull it up over my ears. I’ve worn it three days straight on a wet trip and it never felt clammy, which is more than I can say for my old synthetic buff.
